My first Sunday in Leshotho!

I attended a funeral. Sorry I don't have pictures. It was very interesting. They start by singing, than everyone one gathers in a small room to see the face of the deceased in a casket. They bring the closed casket to the tent. There were women who laid on a matteress on the floor to mourn. There is lots of singing. The family members, chief, (and who know who all else)came and spoke. The preacher for this funeral was Glenn Gault. This whole process is about 3 to 4hrs. Than we walked to the burial. That was really interesting. They had a place dug so they put the casket down in the dirt. They used a cow skin to lay on top of the casket. Than one person after another would come and throw in a showel of dirt over the casket. This was about an hr process, of course they would sing. Than we walked back up to the tent to eat. I didn't know this person.  A nice kick into culture my first weekend!
